RADAR Enables Extended Parking Mode for the U1000 Plus, U1000, and Q1000 dash cams!
Low power consumption makes the Thinkware U1000 PLUS, U1000, and Q1000 dashcams the best choice for long-duration parking mode protection.
Current Energy Saving Mode extends recording time while the vehicle is parked, but it only begins recording after an impact is detected. By adding the RADAR sensor, Parking Mode can be extended even further while still capturing pre-event footage. When RADAR detects movement in Energy Saving Mode, the system switches to Recording Standby Mode. If an impact occurs during this time, the dash cam records 10 seconds before and 10 seconds after the impact (20 seconds total).
The Thinkware RADAR can be used with Energy Saving Parking Mode 2.0 (ESP 2.0). ESP 1.0 allows Thinkware dash cams to record for longer periods while parked; however, it only records after an impact is detected, meaning there is no footage leading up to the incident. With RADAR enabled, when motion is detected, the dash cam briefly wakes from Energy Saving Mode. If an impact occurs during this period, the system records 20 seconds of footage, including the moments before the impact.
